Is Written Content More Important Now Than Ever

In recent years, we’ve heard more and more about the rise of video, especially in content marketing. It’s the most popular medium to consume content through. It is comfortable and convenient for the target audience in the majority of cases. Another significant benefit is that videos are more memorable, as us humans have a better recall of visual content.

However, all this isn’t to say that written material doesn’t have its place on the internet in our marketing strategy anymore. Blog marketing via SEO blogs is alive and well, and search engines still love the variety. Additionally, sometimes you can provide more value via the written word. Despite the rise of video, other types of content are still crucial for SEO optimization. But is written content more critical now than ever before?

Benefits of Varied Content

Even though some businesses do exceptionally well with mostly visual content, SEO optimization is still a primary priority of anyone who wants to rank better. That’s the main reason why the written material is still so important – it provides an avenue for optimization that visual content cannot match.

Firstly, a written text used in addition to visual content is an extra option for content consumption, which is great for drawing in the broader audience. The written material also provides more opportunities for internal and inbound linking, as well as guest blogging strategies that can help your SEO blog gain a lot of traction and rise through the Google ranks.

Another benefit of having a written SEO blog is that it’s an excellent option for someone who’s looking for information quickly. Articles can be skimmed through, and it’s pretty easy for your target visitor to find what they need if your content is well divided and concise.

Downsides of All-Visual Content

When you hear about all the pros of using video content, you might be tempted to forget blog marketing and produce visual content exclusively. However, that’s significantly more expensive than having an SEO-optimized blog, as it takes a lot of resources even to create even a short and basic video professionally.

Additionally, the video can’t succeed on its own, as search engines can’t crawl it or understand the extent of the information within. Videos need text to rank well – so if you’re using video, make sure you still have well-written content attached to it.

Written content is still the most important thing for successful SEO optimization of your website. Despite the benefits of new types of material, the written word is the base for all ranking, and it’s unlikely that will change any time soon.

However, it can take months before you see the results of blog marketing, even though it’s an organic way to rank. If you wish to see results sooner, don’t hesitate to contact me – I’ll be happy to discuss your marketing strategy with you and help in any way I can.
